The county Seat of
Onondaga is Syracuse,
NY. The Erie Canal,
which runs through Syracuse, helped to establish this central hub of
industry and business. The education, health, and service industries are
well represented in the Onondaga County economy with Central New York
Children's Hospital, Upstate Medical University, Crouse Hospital,
Syracuse University, Magna
International and St.
Joseph's Hospital Health Center. Additionally, Lockheed
Martin, Wegmans Food Markets, Anheuser Busch, and Bristol Myers
Squibb are just a few of the international companies that make this
economy so diversified.
The natural beauty
and outdoor recreation of Onondaga County makes it a four-season tourist
