Cicero lies on the southern shore of Oneida Lake, the largest NY lake. Fifty-eight species of fish swim in these waters, making Oneida Lake one of Upstate New York's premier fishing destinations. Anglers call it the "The Walleye Lake of New York State". Cicero residents enjoy free access at the Joseph F. William Memorial Park and Beach. Included within Cicero town limits is the hamlet of Brewerton, through which the Oneida River flows. A lovely riverfront park awaits boaters and fishermen here. The town of Cicero boasts five other parks as well.

Community involvement is important to Cicero, NY. A number of heartwarming family-friendly events occur each year, including a Snowflake Festival, concerts by the bay, and a community camp-out in the park.

Cicero's Parks and Recreation Department runs twelve different programs, teaching everything from Kid Karate to Youth Tumbling. HOSTS (Helping Other Students To Succeed) is held at the CanTeen Teen Center, focusing on peer pressure, drugs, alcohol and other challenges our young adults face. Cicero does not forget its elderly. The Young At Heart Senior Citizen Center is just for them. For younger townspeople, volunteers organize the Cicero Little League, Youth Soccer and a football team.

Cicero holds a strategic location for business, with access to Interstate Highways 81, 481 and 90. The Syracuse International Airport is a ten-minute drive. Driver's Village opened in 2004, giving a tremendous boost to Cicero's economy. This state-of-the-art auto mall contains a large number of car dealerships, service centers, and parts and accessory outlets. New construction is happening all over Cicero, with Wal-Mart, Lowes and Price Chopper opening new stores. City planners have numerous projects in the works, and offer tax incentives for incoming firms.
